This is the IBM Optical Device Driver for the Panasonic PD System.

To install:

1) Go to System Setup and double click on "Device Driver Install"

2) Now change the source directory from A:\ to the directory
where you unpacked the driver files.

3) Set the destination directory in the same way.

4) Then run the "Install" and your driver will be in place.

5) Shut down and reboot to make things work.

PS. It is advisable to look at "config.sys" and see where the
device=x:\os2\boot\optical.sys is in the file. (x:=bootdrive letter)

It is most proberbly added at the bottom of "config.sys". If it is
then use a text editor to edit "config.sys" and place it right after
the "BASEDEV=xxxxxx.add" (Example: BASEDEV=OS2CAM.ADD /V /ET)

Save, shut down and re-boot. Now your PD should show up in the DRIVES
folder. The CD-ROM should also be pressent as a seperate icon if your
SCSI driver is set to recognise multiple LUN's.

Alternate way of installing:

1) Simply copy "optical.sys" to the x:\OS2\BOOT\ (x:=boot drive
   letter) directory.

2) Then add the following line after the "BASEDEV=xxxxxx.add" device driver
   (Example: BASEDEV=OS2CAM.ADD /V /ET) in "config.sys". (Use a text editor)

Save, shut down and re-boot. Drive icons are in the Drives folder.

The above examples are based on using the NCR 810 chipset (SCSI controller)
that many mother board manufactures use. Settings should be simmilar on
Adaptec and other SCSI controllers.

Panasonic nor do I work for any business directly or indirectly involved with
the PD drives. I am simply a normal user and can not provide support services.
